Small actors, large players, one defence – a new webinar on  November 18, 2020

Focused on the role of SME (Small Medium Enterprises) in the frame of the project, it provided an overview of their contribution to the project and the expected benefits in the medium/long term. After an introductory remark about the wide context of the EU policy in favour of SMEs provided by Sylvia Kainz-Huber, European Commission, and the related EDA perspective, illustrated by Pieter Taal, Head of Industry Unit, EDA, some partners presented their experience and achievements. In particular Antonino Arecchi provided an overview of OCEAN2020, presenting all the 11 SMEs partners in the project.

 

Then Tomas Zalaundaskas, Baltic Institute of Advanced Technology from Lithuania, Baldur Kubo, Cybernetica from Estonia , Kenny Barraud, Prolexia from France, Benjamin Shpigler, Infinite Vision from Germany and Thanos Yamas, ALTUS from Greece took the floor presenting their role in the project, together with results achieved and expected benefits.

 

The webinar also hosted the intervention of two special guests, Fabio Massimo Castaldo, Vicepresident of the European Parliament and Ron Nulkes, Director of Netherland Industry Association (NVID).

 

The discussion was moderated by Alessandro Marrone Head of Defence Programme, Istituto Affari Internazionali (IAI).
