During the third  day of the 9th International Tech-Science Conference NATCON “Maritime technologies for defense and security”, representatives of Leonardo  gave a presentation entitled “Leonardo Unmanned Helicopter System: AWHero rotary UAS”, focused on the AWHero Leonardo’s rotary wing UAS in the 200kg class.

This presentation covered  its main capabilities, also detailing how  the system was  operated using sample ‘Concepts of Operation’ and examples from the recent OCEAN2020 (Open Cooperation for European mAritime awareNess) exercise. The presentation detailed how AWHero improved persistent wider area surveillance and how it can be teamed with manned helicopter assets.
