Italian FREMM Frigates Bergamini class
Under the Italo-French FREMM cooperation programme, Italy has planned the acquisition of 10 multi-mission frigates (6 General Purpose, characterized by high operational flexibility, and 4 in ASW variant, specifically designed for submarine warfare operations).
 
Both variants are equipped with enhanced anti-aircraft (AAW) and anti-surface warfare (ASuW) capabilities, with hangars for SH90/EH101 helicopters.
 
The ASW configuration has a towed sonar and torpedo launching systems.

Nave Martinengo
ITS Federico Martinengo (F596) is the seventh Italian FREMM frigate and third in GP (General Purpose) configuration.
The unit - built in the Fincantieri shipyard in Riva Trigoso – was launched in February 2017 and later transferred to Muggiano shipyard's floating dock (La Spezia) for the completion of outfitting and sea acceptance trials.
